Costa Rica is a beautiful place to live, despite the persistent areas of concern, it has improved it’s human developments indicators, since 1990.
The 25 past years have been great, the average years of schooling have increased by 44%, and the income has double! According to the United Nations Development Program’s Human Development Report (UNDP) that was released in the third week of March. Also, the life expectancy in Costa Rica has increased! For a total of four years.
The UNDP assistant representative, Kryssie Brade, as shown that Costa Rica, in 2016, has become the first country to sign a National Pack for meeting the UN Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS), which immersed in the participation and commitment for action in all sectors of the society and economics to improve the quality of life for all the inhabitants in Costa Rica.
“The Sustainable Development Objectives provide a great opportunity for Costa Rica to agree on a long-term national vision and agenda that will enable real and lasting change in the fight against poverty and inequality, the promotion of education and health, decent work, environmental protection and the strengthening of justice, among other areas,” Brade said.
Costa Rica is one of the 193 countries that committed to meet these objectives by the year 2003.
Still, Gabriela Mata, the UNDP economist, noted that despite Costa Rica’s ranking on human development has grown, the values in recent years have remained constant.
