This tour departs early in the morning, heading towards Tenorio Volcano National Park. Once there, you will begin a 7kms/4.3miles hike (around 4 hours) through the tropical rainforest in the company of a private naturalist guide. You will arrive at Río Celeste’s “Los Teñíderos”, the site where two streams of crystalline water meet. Together, they form the heavenly blue color that gives the rivers its name. You will walk through trails rich with ecological wonders, hiking amidst the jungle, until you will reach the volcano’s furnace vents; these expel gases of extremely high temperatures. Afterwards, you will wind back and descend to the spectacular Río Celeste waterfall. Its color makes this waterfall particularly eye-catching. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy an exquisite Costa Rican lunch before returning to your hotel.
Lunch, bottled water, fruit juice, bilingual guide, transportation, and entrance fee to the park.
Swim suit, hiking shoes, strap sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sun block, money, and hat
How long is the boat ride?
The catamaran will be going across the Nicoya Gulf, and if there is nothing unusual (Like spotting whales or dolphins), it will take about two hours to get to the island.
How long do we stay in the island?
Four to five hours, unless there is pouring rain and the passengers agree in leaving earlier.
If i do not know how to swim, do you recommend this tour?
Yes! The catamaran is perfectly safe and there are plenty of life vests in case of an emergency.
What we would not recommend to do if you do not know how to swim, is to take the included snorkeling tour.
Are there shops in the island or on the catamaran?
There is one souvenir shop on the island and quite pricey, and there si no store on board of the catamaran. So, our recommendation is to bring everything you need with you.
Can I pay for the extra drinks with credit card?
Yes! All major credit cards are accepted.
Longer hikes can be strenuous and should only be undertaken by those without health problems.
