Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco is the result of years of hard work and foresighted decisions; a nonstop process of improvement in quality and services. This hotel is located in the small town of Santa Elena, about a 3½ – 4 hour drive, from San José.
This hotel started with just 5 rooms, then “Little by Little” as the name of the hotel stands for; they began with an ambitious plan to expand our facilities without loosing its vision of cozy style and quality service.
Nowadays they have a total of 32 deluxe fully equipped rooms, a restaurant with the best fusion of native and foreign cuisine, a beautiful heated swimming pool, wet bar, and gardens full of native flowers, butterflies and hummingbirds.
Guests may choose to enjoy the beautiful, heated, covered swimming pool and Jacuzzi; wet bar, workout room, beautifully kept gardens and common outdoor areas.
The hotel’s Spa is one of the highlights, with very affordable prices and a more natural style in treatments and products. A kids’ play house and pool section provide great entertainment for families traveling to Monteverde. Otocuma restaurant has the best fusion of native and foreign cuisine: it is one of the best options in Monteverde. Newly released lunch and snacks menus, help to complete the range of delicious choices.
All 30 rooms are equipped with a telephone for international calls, alarm clock, coffee maker with coffee from Monteverde, iron, ironing board, cable, flat screen TV, DVD player, safe deposit box and very comfortable orthopedic king and queen beds.
The Standard are a total of 30 deluxe rooms ranging from singles to doubles, triples and quadruples. They all have a comfortable private bath with a hot water shower, bathrobes, retractable chrome clothesline, lighted wall mounted mirror and hair dryer.

There are 18 units with beautiful views to the forest and surrounding valley. They are located on higher floors, by the forest or garden areas. The 12 Bromelia rooms offer the same equipment than the Quetzal rooms; nonetheless, these rooms are located on ground levels and lack the element of view. Even so, guests have access to all hotel areas and services.

BUDGET

The Certification for Sustainable Tourism Program – CST – is a product of the Costa Rican Tourism Board and it is regulated by the Costa Rican National Accreditation Commission. The certification is based on an accreditation of a scale of 5 “levels” of sustainable tourism achievement.
CST gives you reliable information regarding companies that make efforts to improve their management and operations to offer a sustainable product. It is also a good tool to differentiate those companies that are truly engaged with sustainable practices, from others that claim to be sustainable but are inconsistent in their actions.
PRICES:
The range of prices scale is based on the following criteria:
$ Refers to Budget accommodation: ranging from $70-100
$$ Medium: $100 – 150
$$$ Upscale: $150 – 200
$$$$ Premium: $200+
These measures are meant to be used as a reference only and they are calculated on double occupancy, standard room, quoted in U.S. Dollars and include a 13% sales tax; on both high and low seasons.
You can always refer to these prices as selection criteria.
