From May 15th, American Airlines, US Airways, JetBlue, Copa, Avianca, Lacsa, Taca and Aeroperú have included U.S. $ 29 departure tax in the travel ticket.
The bank windows of Bancredito will still remain open for a few more months however.
Rafael Sanchez, president of the Airline Association (ALA), said the benefit for users is to get a better service experience because they should not stand in line to pay for the tax, and will move immediately to the boarding pass issuing area.
This possibility was included in scheduled flights from June onwards, with the exception of Copa Airlines that is including it on the flights from August on, Sanchez said. In the case of American Airlines and US Airways, the measure shall apply to flights operating from June 15th.
Jet Blue will include the tax in trips scheduled from June 22. Meanwhile, Avianca, Lacsa, Taca and will Aeroperú will include it on June 30th.
Whoever is traveling prior to those dates can pay the departure tax at the airport or in Bancrédito branches.
