Costa Rica is in the list of the more searched in Google in Central America and the Caribbean by a person with nationalities like Canada, USA, and Mexico.
Analyzed and ensured by the internet giant in 16 countries.
“We know that the tourism topic is very important for the countries in the region. In Central America, Costa Rica has a very particular position; we, as Google, want to give knowledge to the government and the private and public companies of what is happening” said by Daniel Castelblanco, leader of investigation and Insights for Central America and the Caribbean in Google.
The analysis shows that the Canadian look in the Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba and Jamaica, plus Costa Rica. Among the US citizens center their searches in the same destinies, except for Barbados, instead, they showed interest for Puerto Rico.
Finally, the Mexican decided to search information about Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Puerto Rico, and yes, Costa Rica.
According to the Expert, they also analyzed the terms used by people, which revealed what they are looking in the country.
In this way, the highlights of the searches where term such as; All included Costa Rica, Flag, map, vacations, weather, flights to Costa Rica, Guanacaste, Jacó, Manuel Antonio, Tamarindo, and some other like “Where is Costa Rica?”
“They search for topics related to the location, which means that these people are a step forward and want to know about the country details. They also search for specific destinations in Costa Rica” he said.
“Because of the magnitude of searches, it seems that in the United States, the people have very present some topics about Costa Rica”, added Castelblanco. On the other side, the analysis showed that other nations of the region like Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador are between the destinies with a higher increment of searches. “This information reflexes, year by year, the increment in percentual points for 2015 to 2016. Not necessarily are the most search destinations, but those who are having the most interest in them”, he commented.
The Canadian raised in a 12% their searches about El Salvador; the US citizens 17% for Guatemala and the Mexicans, and 30% for Honduras.
