Itinerary
Day 1: (L,D)
Travel day to Sierpe River and mangrove. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: (B,L,D)
Guided tour to Corcovado National Park. Rest of the day off to either relax while enjoying the hotel facilities or exploring the natural surroundings (for example: enjoying some sea or river kayaking).
Day 3: (B,L,D)
Caño Island Biological Reserve tour after breakfast. A picnic lunch is included.
The rest of the day off to either relax while enjoying the hotel facilities or exploring the natural surroundings (for example: enjoying a walk down the beach).
Day 4: (B)
After breakfast, you will head out by boat back to Sierpe. From there you will be transferred to Palmar Sur or Drake Bay landing strip for your return journey to San José.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: (L,D)
You will be picked up by a Drake Bay lodge representative at Palmar Sur or Drake Bay landing strip. From there, you will be transferred by car to the dock town of Sierpe, where you will board a boat and travel down the Sierpe River. This waterway boasts one of the largest mangrove ecosystems in the world, habitat you can admire during your boat transfer to the Drake Bay lodge. Once you arrive, you will be met with a welcome cocktail.
You will have the rest of the day off so you can settle in and explore the natural surroundings.
Overnight stay at the Drake Bay lodge (Lunch and dinner included).
Day 2: (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will depart on a guided tour to Corcovado National Park. This hiking adventure will take you on an expedition to one of the prized jewels of Costa Rica’s national park system. This park harbours the only surviving old growth humid forest on the Pacific coast in the whole of Central America and is the home to a staggering abundance of biodiversity. You will board a boat at the hotel for a 20-30min transfer to the park. Once there, you will spend the day trekking across the jungle, making your way through secondary and primary rainforest, on challenging yet exciting trails. Visits to a lookout point and some splendid waterfalls are included, as is lunch. Wildlife spotting opportunities are abundant during this trek.
You will be transferred by boat back to the Drake Bay lodge. You will have the rest of the day off to either relax while enjoying the hotel facilities or exploring the natural surroundings (for example: enjoying some sea or river kayaking).
Overnight stay at the Drake Bay lodge.
Day 3: (B,L,D)
This day will see you departing for Caño Island Biological Reserve after breakfast. This guided tour will take you to one of the best snorkelling sites in Costa Rica: Caño Island Biological Reserve. After a 45min boat transfer from the Drake Bay lodge, you will anchor at two different sites close to the island. Your snorkelling guide will point out the many diverse species living just below the surface. The dark, volcanic rock and the open water around the island are home to a variety of marine life including Olive Ridley and Hawksbill Sea Turtles, White-Tipped Sharks, several species of Moray Eels, Mobula and Sting Rays, big Cubera Snapper, schools of Horse-Eyed Jacks, King Angel fish, Grunts, Barracudas, and much, much more. After your snorkelling session, you can spend some time exploring or relaxing on the island’s white sand beach. A picnic lunch is included.

Day 4: (B)
After breakfast, you will head out by boat back to Sierpe. From there you will be transferred to Palmar Sur or Drake Bay landing strip for your return journey to San José.
