In Camino Travel, we care to select the best suppliers to rent a car and thus guarantee that the vehicles provided are in excellent conditions. On top of that, the rental companies we do business with also include the necessary insurance and documents. With this in mind, we also reserve and coordinate the place and time to deliver your car, making it a whole lot easier to plan your vacation.
Traveling using a rented car offers the freedom to explore the country at your own pace. Nonetheless, you may need some patience while driving in Costa Rica since some of the roads aren’t in very good condition and road signals can be very basic in certain areas. Despite these slight setbacks, you will be able to explore local routes in the countryside and live the adventure of discovering gorgeous landscapes while driving through the different regions of the Costa Rica.
If you are an adventurous person and you are going to drive through steep mountainous roads or areas without paving, what you need is a 4 wheel drive vehicle (4×4). On the other hand, if you are driving only through the main highways to places such as the Arenal Region (La Fortuna), North Pacific beaches or Manuel Antonio (Central Pacific), then you can use a regular car, which is cheaper. Most car rental companies in Costa Rica offer manual transmission cars. You can also find automatic transmission cars but in less amount. Make sure you inform us ahead of time if you need an automatic car, this way we can request it with enough time.
