The magic of traveling relies on discovering the world's differences
Did you know
One of Camino Travel's main goals is to put into practice the basic principles for achieving a better way of conducting tourism, with less impact on the environment and more impact on your experience. We are proud to be one of the first seven companies in Costa Rica to obtain Certification for Sustainable Tourism for Tour Operators (CST-TO).
Because of This, You can help us doing the following things
- Give back the unused brochures so that they can be reused
- Avoid using excessive sunscreen lotion (or tanning oils) right before swimming in the sea
- Restrain from feeding animals in the national parks
- Try to speak at least the basic words in Spanish: local people will appreciate your efforts and it is also a way of showing your interest for the country
- Try, when possible, to avoid having the towels and bed sheets changed every day
- To have a closer approach to the country you are visiting, establish contact if possible with the communities near the hotels you are staying at.
- Be positive and specially patient with the unexpected, remember that language and cultural barriers do exist.
Important things to remember
- Costa Rican lifestyle tends to be more laidback than that of European or North American countries. Be patient if things take longer to be done than in your home country. Do not expect things or people to be like they are at home
- National realities are complex; even if you do not understand certain situations or people´s behaviors, do not judge them based on a first impression. Be spontaneous and friendly; people notice it
