Reaching Costa Rica
Once your flight lands at Juan Santamaría International Airport, Camino Travel will pick you up and transport you to your hotel located in the outer edges of San José City. Once you’re happily settled in your lodgings, you will have the rest of the day off to spend as you wish.

Poas Volcano/Coffee Hacienda/Arenal Volcano 
(B) Your adventure in Costa Rica will begin with a visit to Poas Volcano National Park. This majestic colossus boasts one of the largest craters in the world. The observation platform is located directly at the edge of the crater, from where you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of this splendid volcano. Additionally, you can take a hike through the rainforest and visit the nearby Botos Lagoon. The next stop of the day will be at a family owned coffee plantation and mill. Here you will learn all about sustainable coffee production. At the end of your visit, you will travel on towards the region of Arenal Volcano, where you will spend the night.

Arenal Volcano
(B,L) The next morning, you will make your first visit of the day at a multifaceted sustainable conservation project. This center offers all kinds of information concerning local butterfly species and wildlife. Also, you will be able to walk around the experimental farm of the project where more than 300 species of plants are grown. Your next stop will take you to an adventure center found in the middle of the rainforest. Lots of activities are available here; you’ll be able to participate in canopy tours and an aerial tram tour. As evening rolls in, you’ll go on a visit to a natural hot spring and relax in hot mineral waters surrounded by verdant jungle. Once more, you’ll spend the night in the Arenal Volcano region.

Sarapiqui
(B) Your day starts out with an early departure towards the region of Sarapiqui. This area on the Atlantic side of Costa Rica is blessed with prosperous humid habitats as well as abundant wildlife. Once you arrive, you will visit a private natural reserve and take part in a hike through the thick rainforest typical of the region. You’ll also get the chance to learn a lot about cocoa bean production as well as take part in the making of your own organic chocolate. Overnight in the Sarapiqui region.

Sarapiqui/Turrialba
(B) You will have the morning off to go exploring at your leisure, taking part in any additional activities that catch your eye. By early afternoon, you will head out towards Turrialba Valley. This region is well known for its flourishing natural habitats, its great rivers (ideal for white water rafting) and its archeological importance. You will spend the night in Turrialba.

Turrialba
(B) The first visit of the day will take place at the biggest archaeological site found to date in Costa Rica. You will get the chance to walk around 3000 year old ruins and learn about the indigenous cultures that lived in this area so long ago. You’ll then move onwards and make a stop at a higher education and agricultural research center. The objective of this project is to investigate modern techniques when it comes to planting crops in an attempt to safeguard sustainable agricultural practices. At this center, you’ll find 2400 different kinds of coffee beans as well as 450 types of cacao plants. Once more, you’ll spend in the night in Turrialba.

Turrialba/Savegre Valley
(B,L) At the beginning of the day, you will head out towards the Savegre Valley region. Before you arrive though, you will make a stop to take part in a sightseeing stroll along a rural road and revel in the amazing mountain views as well discover the many aspects of local agricultural life. You will then continue onwards towards Savegre Valley, filled with flourishing mountain rainforests and located near one of the highest points in Costa Rican territory, el Cerro de la Muerte. Overnight stay in Savegre Valley.

Savegre Valley
(B) You will spend the entire day hiking and discovering the splendid cloud forest of the area, which has been praised by birdwatchers from the world round, seeking out the gorgeous quetzal. While trekking through the forest, you’ll be able to witness its complex ecosystem firsthand as well as observe all kinds of wildlife. Again, you’ll spend the night in Savegre Valley.

Savegre Valley/Uvita & Dominical
(B) Early in the morning, you’ll depart and head down towards the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Dominical is a friendly beach-front village that has many recreational activities available for any visiting tourists. Punta Uvita, located nearby, provides access to discovering the amazing Marino Ballena National Park, a great whale-watching point (July through October) as well as a coral reef refuge. You’ll stay overnight at a pleasant coastal ecolodge.

Uvita & Dominical
(B) You’ll make a morning visit to Marino Ballena National Park and get the chance to discover its many alluring beaches (including Punta Uvita). For the remains of the day you can explore the area freely, having fun in the sea or simply relaxing under the sun. Again, you’ll stay overnight in Uvita & Dominical.

Uvita – San José
(B) You’ll get to spend the morning hours at your leisure to continue your explorations or take part in any activities that catch your interest. You’ll depart towards San José during early afternoon and spend the night in Costa Rica’s capital.
