SIGHTSEEING TOURS
Valle de Orosi & Ujarrás
Orosi has a wealth of history, being one of the few colonial towns to survive in Costa Rica. In the lush green valley of Orosi (the site of the country’s first Spanish settlement), you will have the chance to visit the colonial church and monastery built in 1742 and the ruins of Ujarrás, the second church to be built in Costa Rica. Aside from its interesting history the Orosi Valley also offers much in the way of beautiful views and lush flora. With its unique climate it is no wonder that coffee is the primary product coming out of this land. Many of the plantations in this area offer tours of the farms. There are also hot springs and swimming pools on the southwest side at Los Balnearios that visitors may take advantage of.
