Great for the adventurous and curious traveler who is always eager to find new places to visit!

The rental car allows for more autonomy, be patient when driving, as road signs are not always as good as expected, and the streets are not always in perfect conditions (potholes and gravel roads will certainly be encountered!). Of course, the places visited, such as Savegre Valley and Dominical, make the adventurous drive completely rewarding!

Day 1: Meet & Greet
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be assisted through the terminal, and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at hotel Britannia.

Day 2: Departure to Savegre Valley
(B,L,D) Depart after breakfast towards the country’s southern region, to Savegre Valley, located near the Cerro de la Muerte, one of the highest and most beautiful areas in the country. Stunning mountains surround this spectacular valley divided by the Savegre River. This cloud forest has been celebrated by birdwatchers as the best place in the country to see the quetzal all year round, while in other forests in Costa Rica the quetzal is seen on a seasonal basis. Also, there are more than 200 species of birds. Hiking trails lead you through the interesting vegetation and amazing variety of epiphytes that grow over the trees. Lunch is included at the hotel. Overnight and dinner at Savegre Lodge.

Day 3: Savegre Valley
(B,L,D)
Free day to sign up for any of the activities available (at an extra cost), such as: hiking or bird-watching with a naturalist guide to Cerro de la Muerte, horseback riding, or trout fishing. Lunch is included at the hotel. Overnight and dinner at Savegre Lodge.

Day 4: Departure to the Pacific Coast
(B)
Depart after breakfast towards the southern pacific coast, to the hotel Villas Rio Mar located close to Playa Dominical. Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific Coast has remained virtually untouched by tourism. It is only in recent years, after the improvement of the coastal highway linking Dominical and Palmar, that this area has begun experiencing a rapid tourist development, thus making it a new fascinating destination full of natural attractions ready to be explored. Overnight at Villa Rio Mar hotel.

Day 5: Pacific Coast
(B)
Day at leisure to rest by the pool, to enjoy warm sun bathes, or to sign on any of the optional activities available in the region (at an extra cost) such as: one day visit to the outstanding Corcovado National Park, snorkelling at Caño Island, birdwatching tours, and horseback rides. Overnight at Villas Rio Mar hotel.

Day 6: Departure to Central Pacific Coast
(B)
Depart after breakfast towards the central pacific coast, to the hotel Punta Leona, located near Jacó beach. The resort offers the perfect ending to the perfect holiday. The Central Pacific region offers something for everyone along the coastal littoral. This includes swimming and surfing, beaches, small coastal villages, sportfishing, wildlife, outdoor activities, and the Carara national park. Climatologically the area marks the boundary between the tropical dry zone farther north and the tropical wetlands to the South. It has distinct wet and dry seasons: May to November and December to April, respectively, temperatures average around 30ºC (86ºF) in the dry season, and a little lower in the wet season.
Overnight at Punta Leona hotel.

Day 7: Day at leisure in Punta Leona
(B)
Day at leisure to rest by the pool, or to bask in the sun at the Punta Leona pristine white sand beach. Furthermore the hotel features a snack restaurant located next to the beach, two bars, and a grill serving savory traditional Costa Rican cuisine. Participate in an early morning nature walk on the hotel's private wildlife reserve, rich in plant and animal life. Explore amongst giant tropical trees and hundreds of fascinating plant species. While hiking you may spot such fauna as white-faced monkeys, iguanas, short nosed coatis, toucans and brilliant scarlet macaws. Overnight at Punta Leona hotel.

Day 8: Drive to the International airport
(B) Depart after breakfast from the hotel to the International Airport. You will return the car at the car rental office located 5-minutes from the airport, and they will take you on their shuttle bus.
