Palo Verde National Park
The beautiful Palo Verde National Park consists of rivers, lagoons, mangroves, marshlands and seasonally flooded fields. It is one of the most important wetlands of Central America, home of many resident and migratory waterfowl like the cormorant and the Roseate Spoonbill. The boat tour through the Tempisque River in the park provides the opportunity to take a closer look at nature, and observe a wide variety of birds, crocodiles, monkeys and iguanas, while a naturalist guide points out the characteristics of this complex ecosystem. There are no special requirements to join the tour, however children under seven are not allowed.
What to bring: Tennis shoes, shorts, T shirt, camera, binoculars, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat or cap.
