Poás Volcano and Sarchí Village
Poás is a volcanic compound with a 400 meter-diameter active crater throwing out gas fumaroles. After walking around the active and dormant craters and their surrounding forest, a hearty Costa Rican lunch will be waiting for you at a nearby restaurant. The tour continues past dairy farms and fertile coffee plantations to Sarchí, a village well known for its hand painted oxcarts and shops with a wide range of handicrafts.
What to bring: Sweater, walking shoes, sunscreen lotion, and camera.
Includes: Roundtrip shared transportation from your hotel in San José, bilingual guide, lunch, and entrance fee to the Poás Volcano.
