Irazú Volcano National Park
Early departure from your hotel in San Jose, to take to the Irazu Volcano, which is just one hour away from San José. The Irazú Volcano, at an altitude of 3432 m (11260 ft) on the highest peak in Costa Rica’s Central Mountain Range, has been called “The power keg of Nature”, aptly named for its powerful and sublime eruptions during the 1960’s. The region is both awesome and beautiful with its craters at the summit, its rock formations, and the lush vegetation that surrounds the roads to the volcano. There you can walk near the three craters across a lunar-like landscape and on clear days you could see both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.
What to bring: Long pants, warm sweater, jacket and/or windbreaker, walking shoes & camera.
Includes: Roundtrip shared transportation from your hotel in San José, local guide and entrance fee.
