Doka estate Coffee Tour,
Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfalls
Early departure from your hotel, you will be taken up the Central Mountain Range, to the foothills of the Poás Volcano. Your first stop will be Doka Estate, where one of the best coffees in our country is produced. You will receive an introduction in the plantation; then, a visit to a wet coffee mill that is 70 years old and still works! Afterwards, the drying patios, and finally, the roaster and packing plant will give you a picture of the universe of our golden bean.
From here, you will head to Poás Volcano. Passing by picturesque towns, coffee plantations, foliage fields and cattle pastures, you will reach the entrance to the national park. Created in 1971, the crater of this volcano is one of the largest in the world, 1.5 km (0.95 miles) wide and you will walk to the very edge of it! After spending some time at the crater, you will hike back to the transportation to head for La Paz Waterfall Gardens.
At La Paz, you will enjoy the frog and snake exhibition, the butterfly garden and the hummingbird gallery, the four waterfalls of La Paz river. At the end of the tour, you will have time for some shopping, just before a shuttle brings you back to the reserve’s main entrance. Here, your transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
