TOURS FROM MONTEVERDE
Monteverde Reserve
On the eastern extreme of Monteverde, 3 km (1.8 miles) from Santa Elena, you will find the Cloud Forest Preserve, a 10,500-hectare private reserve established in 1972 to protect the habitat of the quetzal, in danger of extinction.
The Reserve has 13 kilometers of paths and trails open to daily visitors in an area called The Triangle. This area covers 2% of the Reserve.
