Sarapiquí area
Located just 1-½
hours from San Jose, you will find this place blessed with
its abundant flora, fauna, and natural rivers. Sarapiquí
will certainly enchant you with its dense vegetation and local
countryside flavour. The constant rain keeps the region always
green. You will surely love to wake up with the birds singing
and the earth still humid as the sun raises. The trip to Sarapiquí
will take you through scenic settings, ideal for picture taking.
On the way, you will pass by the Braulio Carrillo National
Park, banana plantations, and bamboo thickets. The contact
with locals is an excellent cultural experience, and we are
sure that it will enrich your trip. People of the area usually
work the land, and there are also many scientists living in
this area, since Sarapiquí is one of the most bio diverse
areas in the world. As a matter of fact, La Selva Biological
Station shelters researchers from many different countries,
and is sponsored by national and international universities
and ecological foundations.
