Inspiring Green Contrasts

Day 1:
Our driver will take you on a 1-½ hour transfer to Sarapiquí, crossing the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park. During the afternoon you can enjoy the passing river, relax by the pool, go horseback riding. Overnight in Sarapiquí.

Day 2:
After breakfast, short drive to the nearby town of Puerto Viejo of Sarapiquí, where you will board the boat for a ride on the Sarapiquí River. Return to the lodge in time for lunch. Free afternoon to explore the area on your own. Overnight in Sarapiquí.

Day 3:
Return to San José.

Rates per person based on double occupancy:

  • From December 01, 2007 to July 31, 2008: $235 (without tour $197)
  • From August 01, 2008 to November 30, 2008: $231 (without tour $177)

Sarapiquí area

Located just 1-½ hours from San Jose, you will find this place blessed with its abundant flora, fauna, and natural rivers. Sarapiquí will certainly enchant you with its dense vegetation and local countryside flavour. The constant rain keeps the region always green. You will surely love to wake up with the birds singing and the earth still humid as the sun raises. The trip to Sarapiquí will take you through scenic settings, ideal for picture taking. On the way, you will pass by the Braulio Carrillo National Park, banana plantations, and bamboo thickets. The contact with locals is an excellent cultural experience, and we are sure that it will enrich your trip. People of the area usually work the land, and there are also many scientists living in this area, since Sarapiquí is one of the most bio diverse areas in the world. As a matter of fact, La Selva Biological Station shelters researchers from many different countries, and is sponsored by national and international universities and ecological foundations.
