Day 1:
You’ll depart San José for the 5 hour drive to Tamarindo, located on the North Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Depending on the time of your departure, you may spend the afternoon/evening at your leisure, walking around Tamarindo town and getting to know the local culture.

Day 2:
The next day, you will embark on the Tamarindo Mangrove and estuary tour. The boat trip into the estuary offers the opportunity to observe rare and abundant wildlife while learning about the unique ecosystem of the mangrove forest. Afterwards, you can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool, sunbathing, swimming or taking part in optional tours such as horseback riding, turtle tours (available from October to March), natural history walks, snorkeling and scuba diving, canopy tours and sport fishing.

Day 3:
Depending on what you wish to do next on your itinerary, you can depart back to San José or continue your journey to another selected destination after breakfast.

Tamarindo Beach area

The province of Guanacaste has the privilege of being covered by intense sunshine almost all year round. Cool winds from northern latitudes lower temperatures pleasantly along the coast from December to April. From May through November the warm and sunny weather prevails, although occasional showers may accompany it, usually in the afternoon. Tamarindo beach is part of this breathtaking region. It stretches for a couple of kilometers over a series of rocky headlands. Tamarindo boasts an impressive selection of restaurants, wide-ranging accommodations, a lively beach culture and animated nightlife.
