Day 1:
You’ll depart San José for the 5 hour drive to Sámara, located on the North Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Depending on the time of your departure, you may spend the afternoon/evening at your leisure, walking around Sámara town and getting to know the local culture.
Day 2:
The next day, you will enjoy the kayak and snorkeling tour at nearby Chora Island. Accompanied by a specialist guide, you’ll have a marvelous adventure and fun experience at sea. Your guide will give you details concerning the marine wildlife of the area and take you to the best snorkeling spots. The afternoon you can spend at your leisure, enjoying the hotel facilities or taking part in other optional activities available.
Day 3:
Depending on what you wish to do next on your itinerary, you can depart back to San José or continue your journey to another selected destination after breakfast.

Sámara area
Samara is probably the best beach in Costa Rica due to its sheer size and the safe swimming it offers. The waves break on a reef about a kilometer out, so the water near the shore is actually quite calm - a rarity on the Pacific Coast of the country. It is a great place to relax, rest and enjoy sunbathing. Fans of Pacific sunsets are definitely prompted to travel to Playa Carrillo (6kms/5.6 miles south of Samara) known for its spectacular early evening light and colour show. Carrillo is also safe for swimming and has uninterrupted views of the gorgeous ocean. This area offers plenty of activities for your enjoyment, such as horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkelling, bicycle rentals, boat and fishing excursions, canoe and kayak tours as well as turtle nesting tours.
