Bird watching

Birds are one of the most important treasures in Costa Rica. At Camino Travel we can point out the best places for bird watching, meanwhile we design an itinerary that adjusts to your tastes and needs.

Apart from the place you go, you will always have the opportunity to observe different bird species and some times in great numbers. In fact, Costa Rica has become one of the favorite destinations for bird watchers, since it is possible to count great amounts of species even in one day; and in general there has been registered 850 species throughout the territory!

Unlike other aquatic or land animals, birds are easy to observe since they have a very effective natural protection mechanism, which is indeed, its ability to fly, allowing them to easy escape from predators. From the oak forests of the Talamanca Mountain range, the highest mountains in Central America, to the cloudy forests of Monteverde or Braulio Carrillo National Park and the forest of the Osa Peninsula, the observers of these wonderful animals will discover a wide variety of habitats full of amazing bird species.

Within the best places to observe birds in Costa Rica are: Palo Verde National Park, Monteverde, Caño Negro National Park, Sarapiquí and Quepos, among others.
