GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Ground transportation has become one of the most popular ways to know Costa Rica. To have a driver who takes you from place to place, has several advantages: you do not have to worry to decide which route to take, you do not have the risk to get lost or worry to find the way in the first attempt, you can relax and appreciate the surrounding landscapes, while somebody else drives the vehicle and takes you to the hotel door directly (or another requested place).

GROUND TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS: :

• Private transportation: A private driver will pick you up directly at your hotel and will take you to the next destination. The schedules can be flexible (unless you have to connect with other transfers or be in a certain place at a specific moment) and you do not have to wait for other clients, since the driver will be there just for you.
• Transfers with a driver-guide: These are also private transportation services with the advantage to have a bilingual expert to drive you around. They can be one day services or multi-day transfers (a driver-guide will accompany you for a portion or your entire itinerary). The driver-guide will show you the most important aspects of nature in Costa Rica, the culture, and in case you have reserved it, he will also take you to visit the different parks, reserves and other areas.
• Transfers with a Bus Seat (TBS) or consolidated: This service works on routes and pre-established schedules. A driver picks up the clients in different hotels and goes directly (without stopping) to your destination. Once there, the driver goes to the different hotels to leave the passengers. This is called door-to-door Ground operation. An individual client usually travels with other tourists that he/she does not know, but, in spite of the inconvenience of having to wait until they gather all of them and then leave them, the good thing is that the transfers in TBS are relatively low budget, and more practical than to travel in a public bus. Vehicle Capacity: Different vehicles are used for ground transportation: from mini vans to big buses. If you are organizing a group trip, let us know the amount of people who could make the trip and consider that the different types of vehicles are used according to their capacity. The prices vary depending on the type of vehicle used.
