Casa Calateas

Casa Calateas is a lodge located in the midst of Talamanca’s lush tropical forest; it situated near Cahuita National Park, about a 4 hour drive (215km/140 miles) from San Jose. The lodge offers 2 rooms with private bathrooms and 2 with shared bathrooms; it also offers 1 chalet with 2 double rooms and private bathrooms as well as private balconies. All the rooms at Casa Calateas offer visitors breathtaking views of the tropical forest, allowing you to spot birds and wildlife right from your very own room.
You can also participate in local walking trails and community tours. These include a 2 day rural expedition that gives you a glimpse into the cultural and natural dimensions of the community. You can also take part in a 2 day bird watching tour where you will have the opportunity to spot raptor birds on various nature walks through the local natural surroundings.
