TICO EXPERIENCE
Pueblo Antiguo
At
" Pueblo Antiguo " ("Old Town" a theme park), you can find
out all about Costa Rica's cultural origins in Costa Rican
Nights, a spectacle where you will come in contact with nineteenth
century traditions. Enjoy a humorous show where you will get
to know our beliefs, dresses, architecture, music, food, and
dance. The different constructions in this unique theme park
highlight the various architectural trends found in Costa
Rica between 1880 and 1930. The main objective of Pueblo Antiguo
is to revive Costa Rican traditions in a context similar to
the turn of the century. The combination of live actors, oxcarts,
horses, cattle, a train, horse drawn carriages, boats, live
music, folkloric dances, restaurants and shops present a vibrant
living experience allusive to the past. Typical night dinner
& show includes: folkloric dance, a short theater play, typical
music (such as marimba), a typical dinner followed by a typical
Costa Rican parade with masquerades, live music, fireworks,
etc. All this goes on in a recreated setting of a typical
Costa Rican town at the turn of the century, featuring: the
City, the Rural Area, the Coastal Areas and the Costa Rican
Customs. This setting is immersed in a 5 Hectare property
in San José.
