Museum of Contemporary Art and Design

The Contemporary Art Museum in San José is located in the larger arts complex known as the National Cultural Center. This compound faces San José’s National Park and was once an old liquor factory. In a fitting manner, the offices of Costa Rica’s Ministry of Culture can be found in this complex as well. The museum houses four showcase rooms and you will be able to find both permanent and rotating exhibits of modern art all year round, courtesy of local and international artists.
