Gold Museum
The Gold Museum (Museo de Oro), "below" the plaza de la cultura, is part of a complex of museums operated by Costa Rica Central Bank. The museum's vaults showcase one of the best collections of pre-Columbian art, among them, 2 300 pieces of gold, jewelry, armored plates and objects of religious devotion. The Numismatic Museum, which displays the evolution of Costa Rica's coins starting from 1502 to the present, is also operated by Costa Rica Central Bank. The complex of museums also reserves two rooms to host various exhibits throughout the year.
