Being aware of the importance
spare time has for families, we have left this travel plan
open for the families to decide whether they wish to do some
activities or just stay at the hotel and relax. The hotels
selected for this itinerary offer facilities for children
(ask about cribs, babysitting service, and children restaurant
chairs).
Day 1:
Arrival in San José. A representative from Camino Travel
will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel
in the country's capital city (Central Valley Region).
Day 2:
(B) Morning delivery of your rental
four-wheel drive vehicle. You will then take a 1:30 hour drive
towards the dense tropical forests of Sarapiquí (Northern
Region). Overnight at Sueño Azul Hotel. Important!
Please let us know if you require a child car seat, so that
we can request it for you.
Day 3:
(B) Day at leisure to relax and enjoy nature, different
activities, and dining. Your children can spend time in the
swimming pool, or you can take them for a walk in the nearby
forests. Overnight in Sueño Azul Hotel.
Day 4:
(B) Today you will drive from Sarapiquí to
La Fortuna, home of the Arenal Volcano (Northern Region).
Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Arenal Paraíso Hotel.
Estimated driving time: 4 hours.
Day 5:
(B) Day at leisure in the Arenal Area. There are
many activities to do, including the regions specialty: the
natural hotsprings (one of children's favorites!). Overnight
at Arenal Paraíso Hotel.
Day 6:
(B) You will leave La Fortuna and drive at your own
pace to the beach of Manuel Antonio National Park (Central
Pacific Region). Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at El Parador
Hotel. Estimated driving time: 5-6 hours.
Day 7:
(B) Free day to relax and go to the beach, stay at
the swimming pool, or read a good book. Overnight at El Parador
Hotel.
Day 8:
(B) Drive back to San José on this day and
return your car at the Country Inn & Suites Hotel, where
you will stay for the night. Estimated driving time: 4 hours.
Day 9:
(B) A Camino Travel driver will pick you up at the
hotel and take you to the International Airport in order to
be there three hours prior to the departure time as required
for international flights.
