ADRENALINE ADVENTURE

CANOPY TOUR

Get up close and personal with Costa Rica’s rain forests by viewing it from the unique perspective of the treetops. With the security of a cable system, you can safely soar from tree to tree, enjoying the flora and fauna and an exhilarating ride. Sliding from one treetop to another on a system of wires, harnesses, and pulleys – best known as Canopy Touring – has become one of the most popular adventure activities to do in Costa Rica. The tours usually last between 2 ½ to 3 hours. You can participate in a canopy tour in virtually every area of Costa Rica. Some of the most popular Canopy tours are in Monteverde, Poas, San Mateo, Pacuare, Puerto Viejo, Braulio Carrillo, and Manuel Antonio.

SKY TREK, MONTEVERDE: Sliding from one tree to another on a system of wires, harnesses, and pulleys – best known as Canopy Touring – has become one of the most popular adventure activities to do in Costa Rica. The Sky Trek offers the opportunity to feel the forest from a different point of view. The tour lasts between 2 ½ to 3 hours.

SELVATURA PARK, MONTEVERDE: Located in Monteverde, Selvatura Park, is a cloud forest conservation project that hosts a number of activities and educational programs to introduce visitors to the marvels of the cloud forest. Visitors can visit the forest canopy while they swing through the treetops on the canopy tour, or take a slower approach on the 1.9 mile Treetop Walkway.

SARAPIQUÍ: Located in La Virgen de Sarapiquí, Hacienda Pozo Azul is a 2000-acre ranch that has been turned into an adventure center. A tractor will take you to the starting point, where your guide will give you a safety talk and explain the function of your equipment. The adventure takes you through 12 cables and 17 platforms, at heights of up to 90 feet from the ground. If you decide to do the tour in a combo version, you might go just through 9 cables. The forest that you will be exploring is one of the most biodiverse, so you might have a chance to see some birds and monkeys.

RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA: This is an adrenaline-pumping tour! Prepare yourself to slide from one treetop to another on a wire to which you are attached by harnesses and pulleys. There are a total of 11 platforms, 10 cables and an air bridge for you to experience this new and not at all traditional sport!

GUANACASTE: This tour takes you through many platforms, cables, and suspension bridges to get a closer look at forest canopy. After a short hike through the property, in the middle of a tropical dry forest, you will come to the first platform. From here you can soar down the cables. This is a truly an exciting experience. If you are lucky, you will have the chance to see howler monkeys.

CENTRAL PACIFIC: During this tour you will enjoy a soft trek along natural trails, passing through bridges and observing beautiful tropical waterfalls. A number of platforms await you, and they are reached in different ways, sliding along cables or on a toboggan, getting on a Tarzan swing, walking along a suspended bride, or descending using the rappel technique. Experienced guides supervise this activity and give you the appropriate equipment & instructions.

MANUEL ANTONIO: This trip offers the excitement of exploring the tropical canopy through a series of suspension platforms. These platforms have been specially designed for people to slide across, allowing you to discover the tropical forest. You will have the chance to see a variety of animals including the howler monkey and the white-faced monkey, sloths and toucans. You will have many chances to take pictures including a spectacular ocean view from the mountain
